Cardiologist

Cardio Connect is seeking a full time General Cardiologist to join our team at Cardio Connect. This is an exciting opportunity to enjoy the practice of medicine in a great setting. Cardio Connect’s growing network has a large roster of clients with cardiac and related conditions. Physician Services consist encompass the full spectrum of out-patient consultative service including Holter monitoring, ECGs and loop recording service, heart function clinic, exercise stress testing, support for provision of Echocardiography, nuclear medicine, cardiac CT, MRI, and Angiography. You will provide consultations, supervise medical testing, and practice as a clinical leader in the field of non-invasive Cardiology.

The right candidate is one who is eager to make an impact on the health of our community through focused and dynamic outpatient-based Cardiology practice. You are encouraged to continue to learn, sharpen your skills, and grow within our network potentially achieving partial ownership.

Qualifications:

  • Fellowship, Royal College Physicians and Surgeons Canada (FRCPSC)

Responsibilities:

Consultation and interpretation of tests in the field of community-based cardiology. Communicating with referring physicians and team members.

Patient Intake Coordinator

We seek a goal-oriented, hard-working, and energetic Patient Intake Coordinator to join our team at Cardio Connect in St. Albert. There is an opening for a full-time temporary position lasting between 6-12 months with an immediate start date.

You will join a highly skilled and dedicated team of cardiac care professionals working in a fast-paced, productive, and rewarding environment. While experience in cardiac, medical terminology, and EMR/HealthQuest is a bonus, you must also have prior relatable experience, such as having worked in client care, client call center, or as a clinical intake coordinator, and you must demonstrate the drive and desire to achieve the targets set by the program. We will train the right candidate for the tasks and procedures. This is a positive and forward-thinking environment where you will be valued and respected as a member of our clinic family.

Responsibilities:

1. Referral receipt, processing and booking patients in a timely fashion, according to clinic guidelines.

2. Optimizing the schedule as approved by the physician.

3. Processing and directing faxes appropriately.

4. Booking tests and appointments for a large volume of patients.

5. Chart creation and organization.

6. Effective communication with referring clinics and staff.

7. Coordination with the lead nurse and chief of staff.

8. Attend team meetings and be able to provide admin cross coverage, if needed.

Requirements:

– Eligible for employment in Canada with reliable transportation to the workplace.

– Minimum two years of relatable work experience.

– Excellent communication skills, especially over the telephone

– Excellent time management and organizational skills

– Excellent computer skills, with experience on Netcare and EMRs (HealthQuest) considered an asset.

– Highly professional, engaged, and self-motivated team player focused on high-level care.

– The ability to work independently; self-driven.

Expectations of your role:

We offer a guaranteed base salary of $22-24/hour, plus a competitive performance-based bonus. Wages are based on experience with future pay raise opportunities based on performance and growth.

Clinic hours are 0745-1530 Monday through Friday (all stat days off), allowing for an outstanding work-life balance.

Exercise Stress Test Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Exercise Stress Test Specialist to join our team at Cardio Connect in St. Albert. We are offering an opportunity for a full-time permanent position with an immediate start date.

You will be joining our team of cardiac care professionals in a fast-paced, education-oriented, and growth-oriented environment. You will be part of an innovative and passionate team focused on improving the health of our community.

Qualifications:

The appropriate candidate will be either a Licensed Cardiac Technician, a Licensed Practical Nurse with exercise stress test experience or a Nurse Practitioner with exercise stress test experience.

Cardiac Exercise Stress Test Technicians will have a wide range of responsibilities in our clinic, which can include:

Clinic Practice and Responsibilities:

  • Recording information about the patient’s medical history, drug use, family history of heart disease, and any other factors that may affect the outcome of the test
  • Monitoring the patient’s heart rate, blood pressure, electrocardiogram (ECG), and breathing rate during the test
  • Preparing patients for stress tests by explaining how the test will be conducted, what they will experience during the test, and what sensations they may feel during the test
  • Preparing equipment for testing, including attaching electrodes to measure electrical activity in the heart and inflating blood pressure cuffs on arms
  • Recording information about the test in a chart or computer file for future reference
  • Following established safety procedures during testing, such as ensuring that emergency equipment is readily available and properly functioning
  • Assisting physicians in conducting cardiac stress tests on patients by monitoring vital signs during the test
  • Preparing the patient for exercise by explaining instructions and providing encouragement
  • Obtaining and analyzing ECG, Holter, ABPM, and event recorder devices

Leadership:

  • Consistently communicate with other LPNs, team members and the physician to enhance the quality of patient care and ambulatory care activities.
  • Collaborate on the development, planning and improvement of the nursing care plan.
  • Participate in established educational strategies to promote and maintain optimum patient health outcomes.
  • Ability to take the lead on projects, educational opportunities, and committees.

Licensed Practical Nurse

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic LPN to join our team at Cardio Connect in St. Albert. We are offering an opportunity for a full-time permanent position with an immediate start date.

You will be joining our team of cardiac care professionals in a fast-paced, education-oriented, and growth-oriented environment. While experience in cardiac testing and assessment is a bonus, we will train the right candidate on nursing procedures and tasks. You will be part of an innovative and passionate team focused on improving the health of our community.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Clinical Practice:

– Assess the patient’s condition before and after procedures, document history and observations, and immediately notify the physician if the patient’s condition is unstable.

– Perform vital signs and other clinical responsibilities such as ECG, Spirometry, Holter, and Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitors.

– Assist the physician in performing and evaluating the patient’s response to Exercise Stress Tests.

– Conduct administrative duties such as patient booking, referrals, and follow-ups.

Leadership:

– Consistently communicate with other LPNs, team members and the physician to enhance the quality of patient care and ambulatory care activities.

– Collaborate on the development, planning and improvement of the nursing care plan.

– Participate in established educational strategies to promote, achieve and maintain optimum patient health outcomes.

– Ability to take the lead on projects, educational opportunities, and committees.

– Ability to seek out feedback on performance, set professional goals, and take constructive criticism as an opportunity to grow.

Requirements:

– Active practice permit in good standing with CLPNA.

– Hold an active CPR certification

– Minimum one year of nursing experience in acute care, cardiology, emergency, or critical care.

– Current BLS, ACLS, immunization records and clear criminal record check.

– Excellent computer skills and experience with Netcare and use of EMRs.
